We are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator (Field Services) to join our dedicated Field Services team. Reporting directly to the Manager of Field Deployments, this position is crucial for upholding exceptional safety standards across all North American mining sites. The successful candidate will spearhead safety initiatives and provide essential training to our workforce. We are looking for a proactive individual who excels in crafting innovative safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate both group and individual safety training sessions for the Field Services team.
  • Ensure that all site-specific company certifications are current to enable site access.
  • Oversee regulatory Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) reporting for the Field Services team across North America.
  • Develop and enhance safety policies and procedures related to travel and site readiness.
  • Conduct investigations and provide reports on incidents within Field Services.
  • Obtain necessary radiation certifications and assist in the preparation of radiation survey reports.
  • Coordinate medical examination requests as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about regulatory safety standards and best practices in the mining sector.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal safety requirements.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Health & Safety roles is preferred.
  • Relevant OH&S certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of BC OHS and BC Mines Safety Act Regulations.
  • Experience with the Certificate of Recognition (COR) and an Internal Auditor designation from the BCCSA is a plus.
  • Proven experience in delivering educational safety programs and effectively communicating safety information.
  • Experience in leading incident investigations, including documentation and corrective action implementation in a mining context.
  • Excellent verbal, coaching, interpersonal, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and online H&S applications.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Compensation: $62,000 - $71,000 annually

The salary offered will be determined based on the candidate's experience, knowledge, and skills, as well as market data and internal equity considerations. We are in a growth phase and welcome talented individuals at all levels to apply.
