Nursing Practice Initiatives Lead

Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Practice Initiatives Lead to join their Professional Practice Admin team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting excellence and advancing professional practice relevant to the strategic direction of the Organization, Professional Practice, and the Community of Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement professional standards and practice guidelines to enhance the quality of care.
- Collaborate with regional Professional Practice teams, Community of Care Operational teams, and other stakeholders to guide the development of professional standards and practice.
- Provide leadership and expert consultative advice on nursing issues, including scope of practice, clinical informatics, resource planning, and research.
- Support the development of evidence-based practice and foster collaboration and problem-solving between programs, projects, and professional staff.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master's Degree in nursing with three to five years of recent experience in a complex healthcare environment, including program planning, education, facilitation, and project leadership.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional practice, nursing regulations, and nursing standards, with the ability to apply these across the continuum of care.
- Understanding of available resources for practice and ability to keep quality in the forefront of all resource utilization decisions.
- Facilitation, collaboration, and negotiation skills to resolve practice issues effectively.
- Ability to keep informed about evolving trends and practices, share knowledge, and support nurses to integrate evidence-based practice in the delivery of quality care/services.
- Fostering collaborative and effective working relationships to support the professional practice and ongoing development of staff, contributing to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
