Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Nursing Practice Initiatives Lead to join the Nurse Patient Ratio team.
This role will be responsible for promoting excellence and advancing professional practice relevant to the strategic direction of the Organization, Professional Practice and the Community of Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement professional standards and practice, scope and regulations, and support research activities.
- Provide leadership and expert consultative advice on nursing issues, including scope of practice, clinical informatics, resource planning and research.
- Collaborate with the regional Professional Practice team, the Community of Care Operational teams and other relevant internal/external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master's Degree in nursing with three to five years of recent experience in a complex healthcare environment.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional practice, nursing regulations and nursing standards.
- Ability to facilitate, collaborate and negotiate for effective resolution of practice issues.
- Knowledge of available resources for practice and ability to keep quality in the forefront of all resource utilization decisions.
