Role Overview:

The Baycrest Foundation plays a vital role in securing funding for the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. The Foundation engages with donors through direct outreach and various events.

As a Stewardship Specialist within the Major Gifts/Principal Giving team, you will be instrumental in executing a comprehensive stewardship program that aims to surpass donor expectations through effective acknowledgment, recognition, engagement, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design tailored recognition strategies for donors in collaboration with major gift officers, adhering to Foundation standards.
  2. Implement agreed-upon recognition initiatives, including overseeing the installation of physical acknowledgments and coordinating with vendors.
  3. Create visual presentations and mock-ups for donors, collaborating with vendors as necessary.
  4. Manage the production of stewardship reports and other essential donor communications.
  5. Assist in the creation of the annual report, newsletters, and donor feature stories as required.
  6. Supervise the execution of Donor Spotlight stories for digital displays in partnership with Major Gifts and Marketing Communications.
  7. Ensure the accuracy of donor listings for the annual report, Hall of Honour, and all related materials.
  8. Maintain a stewardship calendar to ensure compliance with recognition timelines.
  9. Draft and send personalized acknowledgment and stewardship letters.
  10. Contribute to the annual updates and ongoing maintenance of the Hall of Honour wall and digital displays.
  11. Review and ensure the accuracy of all gift documentation, including terms, conditions, and donor information.
Qualifications:
  1. A university degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years of direct donor engagement experience in the non-profit sector.
  3. Exceptional writing skills, particularly in the context of fundraising.
  4. Strong project management capabilities.
  5. Familiarity with principles and techniques pertinent to major gift fundraising.
  6. Experience working with volunteers is advantageous.
  7. Proficiency in InDesign and/or Photoshop is a plus.
  8. Membership in ADRP and/or AFP is beneficial.
  9. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  10. Meticulous attention to detail in both data accuracy and creative presentation.
  11. Ability to work independently and effectively solve problems.
  12. Excellent multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
