Manager of Site Asset Reliability

Position Overview: This role is integral to the Asset Reliability Group (ARG) at Maple Leaf Foods, reporting directly to the Head of Asset Management and Reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the implementation and sustainability of asset reliability initiatives at the plant level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance plant maintenance practices and coach maintenance personnel.
  • Identify reliability risks and implement action plans to mitigate mechanical and electrical downtime.
  • Develop and execute best practices, tools, and process improvements to ensure sustained results.
  • Manage a team of asset reliability specialists, providing mentorship and guidance for their professional growth.
  • Monitor and report on strategic asset reliability projects, leveraging analytics to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in balancing equipment reliability risks and costs, utilizing preventive maintenance optimization.
  • Provide reliability assessments for new projects, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in reliability engineering and asset management.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in asset reliability, maintenance, or operational excellence within fast-paced manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Experience in managing corporate-level projects and deploying asset reliability initiatives across multiple sites.
  • Strong knowledge of asset reliability principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
  • Six Sigma training and/or an MBA is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations.
  • Experience with reporting and analytical tools, such as Power BI.
