Job Overview

What is the opportunity?

RBC is seeking a Senior Agile Project Leader to join our Corporate Real Estate IT team. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence for a majority of the week. As a Senior Agile Project Leader, you will be responsible for steering and executing agile methodologies, addressing obstacles, managing risks, and fostering continuous improvement at the project level. Your role will also involve orchestrating Agile ceremonies such as release planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups. The effectiveness of this position will be evaluated based on the successful implementation of Agile processes and the team's ability to meet project goals and commitments.

Key Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • Lead the prioritization and successful execution of ongoing projects while planning and initiating new ones to ensure team continuity.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve release goals and deliver results that align with stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop project budgets based on scope and resource needs.
  • Monitor project expenditures to adhere to budget constraints; define project scope and objectives.
  • Provide regular updates on team progress and achievements to various stakeholders, addressing any risks or challenges encountered.
  • Inspire, coach, and guide teams towards continuous improvement through agile best practices and innovative technology strategies, promoting the growth of key technology initiatives.
  • Facilitate status updates, including project financials and manage multiple Agile projects in a dynamic environment, along with product demonstrations and retrospectives.
  • Proactively eliminate obstacles to ensure successful outcomes through effective management of dependencies, critical thinking, and the development of new solutions to ongoing challenges.
  • Create and oversee detailed project schedules, identify potential risks early, and provide guidance for timely resolution of issues.
  • Manage financials and staffing levels to effectively meet project delivery requirements and track value for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external partners, including vendors and business teams.

Qualifications

Must-have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Agile Project Management and/or as a Senior Scrum Master, encompassing both agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Certification as a Scrum Master and Coach, with expertise in JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • In-depth understanding of Agile Project Management workflows, including milestones, critical paths, and backlogs.
  • Strong knowledge of change management and risk management, along with familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.

Nice-to-have:

  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Technology, or Financial Services.
  • Experience with on-premise to cloud migration projects.
