The Agile Project Facilitator plays a crucial role in the success of the Enterprise Digitization and Smart Automation team at Scotiabank, ensuring that business strategies and initiatives are executed in alignment with regulatory standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will enhance team productivity, support the development team, eliminate obstacles, and advance the overall product while guiding teams to adopt compliant agile practices and flexible methodologies.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Cultivating a customer-centric culture within the team to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader organizational resources.
  • Collaborating across multiple robotic RPA development labs based on project complexity and involvement.
  • Managing larger technology updates that affect several bots.
  • Demonstrating resilience, flexibility, and resourcefulness, with readiness to work outside standard hours.
  • Balancing competing goals from various departments and stakeholders with a mature and diplomatic approach.
  • Ensuring the team adheres to agile principles and values, providing support through a servant leadership approach.
  • Coaching the development team to instill core agile values and a strong agile mindset.
  • Identifying and addressing issues and risks promptly, focusing on removing impediments for the team.
  • Building a strong partnership with the Product Owner to maintain an efficient product backlog through open communication.
  • Effectively communicating and presenting to diverse audiences, acting as an advocate for agile methodologies.
  • Contributing to the organization’s agile capabilities by collaborating with Senior Scrum Masters and other agile teams to share insights and best practices.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Familiarity with robotics (RPA) in the Financial Services sector is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Business, Information Sciences, or a related field.
  • 7-9 years of experience in Information Technology and/or Business Administration.
  • Understanding of core banking processes and systems, with experience in the Financial Services Industry.
  • PMP and/or Scrum Master Certification (CSM) is a plus.
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master leading scrum teams.
  • More than 3 years of Project/Program Management experience with a solid grasp of agile project management principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and practices.
  • Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse personality types.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
