Payroll Operations Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Operations Lead to join our team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and best practices, as well as experience managing a team of payroll professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal payroll regulations.
  • Manage a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources and Finance, to ensure seamless payroll processing.
  • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a payroll management role, preferably within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of payroll professionals.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Proficiency with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Workday).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • CPA or PLP designation is an asset.
