Senior Manager, Global Accounting Policies and Procedures

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Senior Manager, Global Accounting Policies and Procedures, you will be responsible for researching and developing accounting policies and procedures for the Bank, as directed by the Director or Vice President.
Key Responsibilities- Accounting Policy Development: Analyze and assess the impact of accounting standards and proposed changes, resolving complex accounting issues, and providing advice and counsel on specialized transactions where required.
- Implementation and Training: Implement the complex accounting requirements for the assigned business lines, and provide training to users on the new guidelines.
- Research and Analysis: Search and understand a vast body of complex material efficiently and productively to produce accurate results and present alternatives.
- Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of staff in cross-functional teams, and provide superior communication skills, both orally and in written memos and other forms of communication.
- Education and Experience: Possess solid financial acumen and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Skills and Abilities: Be organized and able to manage any number of projects/initiatives/reviews at any given time, with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
