Manager, Global Accounting Policy and Advisory

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for researching and developing accounting policies and procedures, as well as implementing new accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities- Accounting Policy Development: Research and develop accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implementation of New Accounting Standards: Implement new accounting standards and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are aware of and understand the requirements.
- Analysis and Advice: Analyze complex accounting issues and provide advice and counsel to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of and understand the accounting implications of new standards.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to users on new accounting policies and procedures.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex accounting issues and provide advice and counsel to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate and collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
- Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Canadian CPA Designation: Must have a Canadian CPA designation.
