This position is part of the NSGEU Bargaining Unit.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive audiology and speech-language services to individuals across various age groups. The successful candidate will engage in prevention, assessment, and therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of speech and language disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care delivery.
  • Provide education and support to families regarding communication disorders and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel as needed for professional development and team meetings.
  • Experience in pediatric speech and language assessment and intervention.
  • Knowledge of best practices in early intervention for children with developmental challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with home-based service delivery models.
  • Familiarity with telepractice methodologies.
  • Experience in providing caregiver training and support.
  • Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages is an asset.
