Main Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture through effective sales strategies.
  • Attain plan sales goal, comp store sales growth, and store goal by analyzing sales data and making informed decisions.
  • Increase customer transactions by overseeing and coaching retail staff to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Manage payroll costs effectively, in accordance with Company standards, to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Manage gross margin, in accordance with Company standards, to maintain a healthy profit margin.
  • Conduct measurements of bridge and eyesize, temple length, vertex distance, pupilary distance, and optical centers using appropriate tools to ensure accurate customer measurements.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate staff to ensure timely training and adherence to Company standards.
  • Oversee sales floor and monitor NECE skills of retail staff to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Facilitate discussions of accountability with retail staff to address performance gaps and improve results.
  • Partner with Store Manager to provide direction on business strategy and communicate opportunity areas.
  • Develop professional business relationships with Doctors to ensure a strong partnership.
  • Perform quality exams as indicated by exceptional customer satisfaction, including repeat customers, customer retention, and coverage/quality of hours.
  • Implement retail-selling initiatives to increase the number of exams and conversion of exams to sales.
  • Recruit, train, develop, motivate, and retain associates, measured by active and targeted networking, interview and select for hire candidates who demonstrate excellent customer service behaviors, encouraging high productivity, employee satisfaction, and bench strength.
  • Ensure each store is effectively merchandised and presented according to Company standards.
  • Execute planogram and visual appearance inside and outside of store, including signage.
  • Maintain overall standards, including cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Ensure Associates exhibit professional presentation, including attire, in accordance with Company standards.
  • Execute local and national marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Execute Brand standards for signage and promotions.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or comparable experience typically achieved with 2+ years as an Optical Associate.
  • Proper licensure.
  • Proven track record of sales growth through sales skills and accountability for sales results.
  • Proven experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment.
  • Ability to facilitate, train, coach, and develop excellent, results-oriented, customer-oriented, retail/sales-oriented associates/teams.
  • Ability to recruit and select associates/teams.
  • Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to issues/opportunities to grow the business.
  • Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented associate and doctor relationships.
  • Success in store merchandising and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities through adaptability, willingness to take calculated risks, and follow-up.
