Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Support Services Attendant to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a key member of our Support Services Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfection, waste management, and linen distribution.
  • Assist with patient transfers and mobility within the facility.
  • Receive and process hospital deliveries, ensuring accurate inventory management and supply chain logistics.
  • Coordinate hospital shipments and maintain compliance with Broader Public Sector (BPS) regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain supply levels, identifying shortages and rotating stock as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services
  • Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment (preferred)
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtaining
  • Food Service Worker Program Certificate (preferred)
  • MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually
  • CPR certification (preferred)
  • Excellent record of dependability and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to carry out physical aspects of the job
  • WHMIS Training
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and other equipment (preferred)
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role require tasks involving repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, and periodic climbing. The successful candidate must be able to perform these tasks safely and efficiently.
