Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Support Services Attendant to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfection, waste management, and linen distribution.
  • Assist with patient transfers and mobility within the hospital.
  • Receive and process hospital deliveries, ensuring accurate inventory and supply chain management.
  • Coordinate hospital shipments and maintain compliance with Broader Public Sector (BPS) regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain supply levels, identifying shortages and rotating stock as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the hospital's operations.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services
  • Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferred
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtaining
  • Food Service Worker Program Certificate preferred
  • MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Excellent record of dependability
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to carry out physical aspects of the job
  • WHMIS Training
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and other equipment preferred
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this role require tasks involving repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, and periodic climbing, including operation of floor machines and other equipment.
