Support Services Attendant Support Services Attendant

Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a Support Services Attendant to join our team. This is a temporary full-time position that requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Job Summary:
  • Provide a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
  • Perform room set-ups and move furniture as needed
  • Prepare, assemble, deliver, serve, and store food in patient care and cafeteria settings
  • Port patients within the facility and manage supply of transfer equipment
  • Receive and manage the flow of supplies through the facility
Responsibilities:
  • Perform housekeeping work, including cleaning and disinfection, waste collection and disposal, linen collection and distribution, and food preparation and delivery
  • Transfer patients within the facility
  • Receive hospital deliveries, validate and deliver items to departments, and enter items into electronic supply chain database
  • Arrange hospital shipments
  • Maintain Broader Public Sector (BPS) supply chain regulations and segregation of duties
  • Maintain supply levels, review shortages, rotate stock, and update changes as required
Requirements:
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Experience in healthcare Environmental Cleaning or Food Services Department
  • Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferred
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtaining
  • Food Service Worker Program Certificate preferred
  • MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Excellent record of dependability
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as contribute to a team environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to carry out the physical aspects inherent in this position
  • WHMIS Training
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and all other equipment preferred
Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, periodic climbing, and operation of floor machines and other equipment.
