Job Title: Mental Health Professionals

Medavie Health Services is a national leader in primary health care solutions, delivering innovative community paramedicine programs and mobile integrated health services across Canada.

As a Mental Health Professional, you will be part of a compassionate network of 4,300 health care professionals in six provinces, working together to provide high-quality patient care through ground and air ambulance services, medical communications, and mobile integrated health/community paramedicine programs.

Our team members are dedicated to building a healthier Canada and supporting the needs of culturally diverse communities. We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Mobile Mental Health and Addictions Clinic in Southwest Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-home client visits with Mobile Mental Health Team members
  • Provide client support through Tele-Support access line
  • Assess client's condition and presenting problem, and contributing factors
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or Paramedic Services
  • Recommend and facilitate referrals to appropriate alternative resources
  • Employ a technical knowledge of psychotropic medication
  • Gather information from interviews with the client and collateral information from family and other professionals
  • Use substantive knowledge of mental illness, cognitive functioning, medical co-morbidity, and substance abuse to formulate clinical impressions and recommendations
Requirements:
  • Considerable clinical experience in mental health settings and community work
  • Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses
  • Ability to provide initial psychological interviews and assessments
  • Experience on interdisciplinary teams, in program development, and case management
  • Independent critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Valid Driver's license in good standing
  • Good previous work attendance record
