Job Title: Community Mental Health Nurse

At Niagara Region, we are seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Nurse to join our team. As a Community Mental Health Nurse, you will provide essential services in health promotion, health protection, and disease treatment related to mental health support and liaison for individuals and their caregivers with mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health services through clinical settings, home/community visits, agency liaison, and collaboration.
  • Work according to program-specific plans, policies, and procedures of Niagara Region Public Health.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement mental health programs and services.
  • Support clients in their travel to locations in the community when relevant to their recovery plan.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BScN) is required.
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • An additional post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Nursing is preferred.
  • Current certificate in CPR.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in psychiatric nursing in a psychiatric setting.
  • Community psychiatric or community health experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control interventions.
