Research Project Coordinator, College of Nursing

Primary Objective: The main responsibility of the Research Project Coordinator is to oversee the organization, communication, and fulfillment of project objectives related to the research initiatives for the Dean of Nursing.

Nature of Responsibilities: This role necessitates close collaboration with the Dean of Nursing and engagement with research and community team members from various institutions and disciplines, both nationally and internationally. The position demands a self-driven and autonomous approach to provide research coordination across diverse projects and to offer logistical support for international research delegations. The coordinator will facilitate team meetings and ensure consistent reporting. Additionally, the role involves thorough documentation, effective communication, and diligent follow-up on assigned tasks and deliverables for research team members, both within and outside the university. Travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in regular team meetings. Maintain comprehensive project documentation. Follow up on assigned tasks with team members and stakeholders. Train and supervise research assistants. Participate in and oversee data analysis. Document, communicate, and track project milestones and deliverables effectively. Organize team meetings and logistical arrangements for international research delegations and projects. Edit, draft, and support knowledge translation and funding initiatives. Meet project timelines and deliverables, including reporting and document preparation. Assist with ethics applications, conference abstracts, and manuscript development.

Qualifications:

Education: A degree in a relevant field of social or health sciences. Consideration will be given to candidates with equivalent qualifications and experience. A proven track record in research coordination and productivity is essential.

Experience: Familiarity with research processes and team dynamics; understanding of qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods analyses; experience engaging and consulting with international institutions, communities, and governments; experience coordinating research teams; demonstrated productivity and contributions to the research environment, including proposal writing, reporting, and manuscript preparation; experience working with diverse populations and in international settings is preferred. Experience in public health, health services, or social science research is required. Familiarity with tri-council funded projects is an asset. Experience with journal publications is also an asset. Knowledge of university processes and policies is beneficial.

Proficiency in relevant software applications, including the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to mentor research assistants.
