Job Summary

GroundTruth Exploration Inc is seeking a highly skilled Geological Field Technician to join our team. As a key member of our exploration geoscience team, you will be responsible for collecting, cataloging, and interpreting geologic data in support of our clients' exploration programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in collecting geologic data on exploration projects through various means, including prospecting, geologic mapping, and other geology-based tasks as required by the Project Geologist.
  • Support geologists in the QAQC program, ensuring accurate and timely collection, documentation, and presentation of geologic data.
  • Assist in organizing sample shipments and maintaining a safe, clean, and effective worksite.
  • Collaborate with camp members to maintain a sanitary, safe, and organized camp environment, including cooking, cleaning, and daily chores.
  • Ensure all electronic tools are fully charged and ready for the workday each morning.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Report all hazards, near misses, close calls, incidents, injuries, and non-conformances.
  • Adhere to all safety employee rights and responsibilities, including refusal of any unsafe work while working towards a safe alternative.
  • Work competently, safely, and professionally at all times, in the field, in camp, and transit.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and after-action shift summaries, and all emergency response plans (ERP).
  • Wear and maintain all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions

The Geological Field Technician position requires working outside in various terrain and weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, and precipitation. Workdays may range from 7-14 days, with limited communication outside of camp due to remote location and limited satellite internet.

Lifting and Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 Lbs. unassisted.
  • Repetitive bending.
  • Hiking on uneven/ mountainous terrain for extended periods.
  • Exposure to cold and heat.
  • Exposure to noise.
Equipment and Tools Usage
  • iCom Radios.
  • Garmin InReach/GPS 66i.
  • Compass.
  • Sat phone.
  • Saw.
Gear Requirements

Employees will be required to supply personal gear, including a sleeping bag, work clothes, underlayers, headgear, work gloves, full rain gear, and a Leatherman or similar multi-tool knife.
