We are currently seeking applications for the role of Mobile Support Worker.
As a prominent Indigenous not-for-profit organization, the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is devoted to fostering positive change within the community. The Mobile Support Worker, under the guidance of the Executive Director, will play a crucial role in providing resources and assistance to community members facing homelessness. This position involves being mobile and engaging with individuals at various locations, including emergency shelters and community spaces, to offer referrals, crisis intervention, advocacy, and connections to additional support systems aimed at reducing the risk of long-term homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with community members experiencing homelessness in various settings.
- Provide crisis intervention and support services.
- Facilitate referrals to community resources and services.
- Advocate for the needs of individuals within the Indigenous community.
Compensation and Benefits:
The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre offers a flexible work environment that includes:
- Two weeks of paid vacation.
- Five paid cultural days, in accordance with HRIC Personnel Policy.
- Four additional paid holidays beyond the standard requirements.
- Paid shutdown during the Christmas holiday week.
- Health benefits available for full-time permanent employees after a three-month probationary period.
