UIHB Navigator Job Description

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre (HRIC) is a culturally based, community-focused organization committed to driving positive change for Indigenous communities. As a UIHB Navigator, you will play a vital role in empowering Indigenous women and their families, promoting employment and education, and fostering community integration and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Indigenous women and their families in navigating systems to access supports and services
  • Provide case management and support to help individuals achieve their goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Conduct outreach and engagement activities to promote HRIC's services and programs
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and team to develop and implement program strategies

Qualifications:

  • Two-year post-secondary education in Social Service Work and/or Indigenous Studies
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a community organization and/or working with Indigenous populations
  • Case management experience and knowledge of Indigenous culture and history
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
