About the Role:

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is seeking a skilled Landlord Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our Indigenous housing program, you will be responsible for leading outreach efforts to landlords and property managers in the Hamilton area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop partnerships with landlords to increase the availability of permanent housing units for program participants.
  • Work closely with Urban Indigenous Homeward Bound Navigators and other HRIC staff to ensure participants can access and sustain housing.
  • Provide community education on eviction prevention, landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities.
  • Act as a resource to program participants on housing-related issues.

Requirements:

  • College diploma in Social Services, Indigenous Studies or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in the housing sector, with a focus on Indigenous communities.
  • Strong understanding of the barriers to accessing and maintaining housing from an Indigenous perspective.
  • Excellent communication, listening and interview skills, with the ability to develop and implement workshops and surveys.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community supports and services.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
