Certified Orthotist

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are seeking a highly skilled Certified Orthotist to join our team. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population. Your expertise will be essential in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, and professional development.
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, particularly in complex cases, and have the knowledge, skill, and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-informed care. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues. Additionally, you will support the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.
The Orthotist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio within a seven-day service.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who holds the title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada and has 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting. You should have demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently, excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

HoursThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
