Orthotist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Orthotist to join our multi-disciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population, utilizing your expertise in decision-making, creativity, and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will have a high degree of autonomy and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues. You will also have the opportunity to support the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.
The Certified Orthotist will be responsible for attending clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings as required, and will provide supervision and evaluation of students and/or technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Privacy legislation and a commitment to the protection of personal health information.
We are looking for a professional with 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably with a title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
The position offers a competitive salary of $44.23 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
