Certified Orthotist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Orthotist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population. Your expertise in decision-making, creativity, and interpersonal skills will be essential in this role.
The successful candidate will have a high degree of autonomy and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues. You will also have the opportunity to support the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.
The Certified Orthotist will be required to attend clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings as needed, and will provide supervision and evaluation of students and/or technicians. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who has the following qualifications and experience:
- Must hold title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
- 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently
- Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Demonstrated ability to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs focusing on a patient-centered approach
- Understanding of Privacy legislation and commitment to the protection of personal health information
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $44.23. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
