Job Details

Compensation: $55.39 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours daily
Location: CASA House
Union Affiliation: In-scope

Role Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be integral to the CASA House program, which supports teenagers facing significant mental health and addiction challenges. The program encourages active involvement from parents and caregivers throughout the treatment process. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough bio-psycho-social assessments for assigned youth.
  • Creating and executing individualized treatment plans utilizing diverse therapeutic approaches.
  • Formulating diagnoses as necessary, employing the DSM V and other relevant diagnostic tools.
  • Delivering therapeutic interventions aimed at helping clients achieve their mental health objectives through family, individual, and group therapy.
  • Leading psycho-educational and therapeutic groups for both children and their caregivers.
  • Managing cases by coordinating with community services and professionals involved with the family.
  • Participating in the intake and discharge processes.
  • Documenting discharge summaries comprehensively.
  • Enhancing staff understanding of discipline-specific topics.
  • Advocating for the needs of children and families as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy, or nursing.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in child and family mental health or youth addiction services, with a preference for experience in educational settings.
  • Current registration in good standing with a relevant professional college.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Employment Conditions
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Completion of a Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a valid exemption.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification, with physical capability to perform necessary interventions.
