Therapist - Child and Adolescent Mental Health

CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team in shaping a brighter future for children, youth, and families. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing timely mental health care and empowering individuals to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social mental health assessments for assigned children.
- Develop and implement treatment plans using a variety of treatment approaches.
- Formulate a diagnosis, when applicable, using the DSM V and/or other diagnostic tools as appropriate.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to support patients in achieving therapeutic goals, utilizing a variety of developmentally-appropriate treatment approaches including family, individual, and group therapy.
- Facilitate psycho-educational and/or therapeutic groups for children and caregivers.
- Carry out case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with community services and other professionals involved with the child and family.
- Participate in the intake and discharge processes.
- Complete written discharge summaries.
- Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.
- Advocate on behalf of the child and family as appropriate.
- Graduate degree in psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy, or nursing.
- A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions. Experience in schools or the education system is preferred.
- Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to vehicle.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
