Job Overview

The Corporate Communications Associate (CCA) plays a pivotal role in formulating communication strategies for designated CN departments. This position collaborates with team leaders across various CN functions and Communications Business Partners to establish annual communication goals. Additionally, the CCA works closely with the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and other essential CN Hub team members to devise strategies and communication plans that align with departmental objectives.

Main Responsibilities

Development of Communication Strategies

  • Assist in the creation, alignment, and coordination of communication strategies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of innovative and effective communication campaigns while managing approvals with the Senior Manager.
  • Support the formulation of key messages for client campaigns.
  • Guarantee consistency in messaging and tone across the client's organization and various CN departments, ensuring adherence to CN's strategic pillars and foundations.

Execution of Tactics and Materials

  • Collaborate with Communications Hub Specialists (Omnichannel and Branding teams) to define tactical plans and oversee their development, results, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Engage in corporate communication projects to enhance understanding of CN's business, departments, and stakeholders.

Client Service Orientation

  • Address the communication needs of the client's organization with a strong client service mindset and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Educate clients on communication practices and processes.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in understanding client needs, optimal communication methods, and critical success factors for delivering key messages.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with client departments.

Brand Representation

  • Act as a representative of the Communications Hub and advocate for the CN brand.
  • Promote and uphold brand standards established by the Communications Hub through strategic recommendations to clients.

Working Environment

This role operates in a standard office environment with a typical workweek from Monday to Friday. The incumbent may be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Given the nature of the role, the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage pressure, and handle stress is essential.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proven experience in crafting and implementing communication strategies and plans.
  • Experience in organizing employee events is a plus.
  • Background in developing and executing video communication plans.
  • Experience in managing resources necessary for executing communication strategies (Hub resources, CN resources, and external resources such as videographers, photographers, designers, writers, translators, etc.).

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
