Position Overview

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of the communications team while introducing innovative and creative strategies to all communication efforts at Reitmans (Canada) Limited (RCL). This position is well-suited for a seasoned communications expert with a strong background in public relations, corporate communications, or marketing. The ideal candidate will ensure that all communications are in alignment with the company's strategic vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the VP to design and execute communication strategies that align with business goals, overseeing all internal and external communication initiatives, including corporate communications, HR communications, investor relations, and public relations.
  • Develop and produce compelling content tailored for diverse audiences, adhering to RCL's branding and tone of voice, while fostering a network across the organization for effective content management.
  • Organize and manage communication projects, delegating tasks to team members as necessary (e.g., Town Halls, corporate events, printed communication materials).
  • Provide guidance to both in-house and external creative professionals, including graphic designers and photographers, to fulfill communication needs.
  • Act as the Community Manager for internal and external corporate communication channels, overseeing content governance and overall strategy.
  • Create and implement communication tools that support internal corporate initiatives and programs.
  • Conduct research to understand key business challenges, communication channels, target demographics, competitive landscape, and external factors influencing our business and communications strategy.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the communications team, offering mentorship and supporting their professional development.
  • Monitor and review daily media coverage.

Required Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken).
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a significant advantage.
  • Professionalism with strong organizational and prioritization skills to achieve results.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Creative mindset that promotes a positive and collaborative workplace.
  • Capacity to understand, synthesize, and effectively communicate cross-departmental information.
