Position Overview
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of the communications team while introducing a contemporary and creative perspective to all communication efforts at Reitmans (Canada) Limited (RCL). This position is well-suited for a communications expert with a strong background in public relations, corporate communications, or marketing. The ideal candidate will ensure that our messaging aligns with the strategic objectives of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the VP to design and execute communication strategies that fulfill business goals, engaging in all internal and external communication initiatives, including corporate communications, HR communications, investor relations, and public relations.
- Craft and produce compelling content tailored for diverse audiences, utilizing RCL's branding and tone, while maintaining an effective network for content management across the organization.
- Oversee the organization of communication projects and delegate tasks to team members as necessary, including Town Halls, corporate events, and printed communication materials.
- Provide guidance to in-house and external creative professionals, including graphic designers and photographers, to finalize communication materials.
- Act as the Community Manager for both internal and external corporate communication channels, managing content, governance, and overall progress.
- Develop and implement communication tools that bolster internal corporate programs and initiatives.
- Conduct research to comprehend key business challenges, communication channels, target demographics, competitive landscape, and external factors affecting our business and communications division.
- Supervise the daily operations of the communications team, offering support and fostering their professional development.
- Monitor and review daily media coverage.
Required Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken).
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a significant advantage.
- Professional discipline with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capacity to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Innovative thinker who promotes a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
- Ability to understand, synthesize, and convey cross-departmental information efficiently.
