Key Responsibilities- Provide Comprehensive Nursing Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Lead Interdisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure Resident Safety: Implement protocols to prevent accidents, ensure timely transfers and discharges, and maintain a safe environment.
- Manage Medications and Supplies: Ensure the safe storage, administration, and disposal of medications, as well as the maintenance of medical supplies.
- Communicate Effectively: Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare teams through effective communication and empathy.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant legislation and regulations.
- Clearances: Vulnerable Sector Police Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
