The Opportunity

The City of St. John's, Department of Community Services, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic instructor to lead our Adult Fiddle program. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering fiddle lessons to adults in a group setting.

Accountabilities

  • Plan, develop, and deliver fiddle lessons to adults in a group setting
  • Consult with the Community Programs and Services-Adult & Seniors Coordinator to ensure program alignment and effectiveness
  • Perform in a direct leadership capacity in the delivery of weekly programs
  • Request and maintain necessary supplies for the program
  • Compile and monitor attendance

Qualifications

  • Recognized training or experience in fiddle instruction
  • Experience in teaching fiddle programs in a group setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with adult populations
  • Formal education with diploma, certificate, or degree would be an asset

Additional Qualifications

  • Successful applicant will be required to obtain a current Criminal Record Screening Certificate and Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within the last six months of the start date)
  • Successful candidate would be expected to have the specific lesson plan content developed prior to start of employment

Program Schedule: Wednesday's from 1:30-2:30pm weekly
