Salary Information:
- Recruitment range: $65,871 - $82,208 - starting salary is determined based on knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
- Performance range: starting salary to a maximum of $94,461 - available through annual performance evaluations.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager of Compensation and Recruitment, the HR Operations Specialist supports programs and systems across various HR service areas, including benefits administration, disability management, compensation, and recruitment. This role collaborates with the Director of Total Compensation and other team members to manage program initiatives and contribute to the department's overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers within established frameworks to effectively address HR-related inquiries.
- Develop and refine tools and resources to improve program delivery across HR disciplines, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to create and implement HR policies and procedures that align with organizational objectives and comply with regulations.
- Assist in administering employee benefits programs, disability management initiatives, and compensation analysis while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and university policies.
- Work with team members to oversee recruitment processes and systems.
Qualifications:
A university degree in a related field such as Human Resources Management, public or business administration, or another relevant area, along with a minimum of three years of experience in human resources within a multi-level, multi-union environment, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Required Skills:
- A commitment to valuing diversity and fostering an inclusive and respectful work and learning environment.
- Effective communication skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds, adapting communication styles as necessary.
- Knowledge of HR regulations, practices, and policies, including recruitment, employment standards, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Strong understanding of information systems, business software, and data management.
- HR certification (e.g., CPHR, CCP) is considered an asset.
