Job Title: Project Engineer, Development

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Development team at AltaGas. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in driving business growth and innovation through the development of early-stage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical initiatives through the development phases of projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies to evaluate project scope, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including third-party engineering contractors, to ensure project deliverables meet technical requirements.
  • Provide engineering expertise to support project development, including design reviews, process simulations, and heat and material balances.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies to enhance AltaGas' core midstream assets, with a focus on energy transition and decarbonization.
  • Support applications for government grants and funding for emission reduction programs or projects.
  • Develop and implement process optimization, energy efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of front-end project development experience.
  • Engineering degree (Chemical discipline preferred).
  • Current registration in good standing with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
