About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kennel Attendant to join our team at Hy Country Kennels & Pet Resort. As a Kennel Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our furry friends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing and Grooming: Bathe and shampoo animals, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and attention.
  • Food Preparation and Feeding: Prepare and serve nutritious meals to our canine and feline residents.
  • Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record animal treatments, vaccinations, and other important health information.
  • Assisting with Inoculations and Treatments: Assist our veterinarians with inoculations and treatments, ensuring our animals receive the best possible care.
  • Animal Handling and Nurturing: Assist animal breeders with handling and nurturing animals, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Supply Management: Maintain and order supplies, ensuring we have everything needed to provide exceptional care.
  • Dental Care: Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals, promoting their oral health and overall well-being.
  • Guard Dog Training: Work with our guard dogs, ensuring they receive the training and socialization they need to thrive.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean and maintain recreational facilities and grounds, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for our animals and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in animal care or a related field.
  • Certifications: Pet first aid course.
  • Language: English.
  • Availability: Availability for shift or on-call work.
  • Relocation: Willingness to relocate for this position.
