Clinical Resource Nurse Specialist

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Resource Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to residents, guiding nursing staff and Health Care Aides, and advancing nursing practice.
Responsibilities- Coordinating Patient Care: Coordinate patient care activities with the healthcare team to achieve pre-established patient care outcomes.
- Direct Nursing Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients and families as necessary.
- Care Planning: Make patient care judgments with other members of the patient care team by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, as evidenced in documented nursing care plans.
- Staff Support: Provide support and feedback to patient care team members in the implementation of individualized nursing care.
- Unit Knowledge: Maintain current knowledge of patient status within the unit/clinical area and notify appropriate personnel of any significant unusual situations.
- Staff Resource Allocation: Assist in the effective and efficient provision of staff resources to meet patient needs in the unit/clinical area.
- Nursing Standards: Assist in the achievement and maintenance of nursing standards in accordance with overall professional and facility/regional standards.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement, risk management, client concerns, and utilization statistical activities.
- Clinical Education: Provide direct clinical education to nursing and other staff within the unit/ward/site, including teaching pre-developed content, empowering staff to gain and/or maintain clinical expertise, and coordinating the orientation of new staff and students.
- Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
- Licensure: Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurses in the province of Manitoba.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years within the past five (5) years applicable clinical nursing experience specific to the unit of supervision.
- Certifications: Certifications preferred in: PIECES, Feeding and Swallowing, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
- Skills: Demonstrated effective problem-solving, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and clients.
