Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Shared Health. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in nursing care, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • One year full-time clinical nursing experience as an LPN within the last three years.
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
  • Knowledge of Regional/Facility/Unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Nursing care knowledge related to the clinical area.
  • Knowledge of Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
  • Knowledge of Roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team.
