Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill various Technical Junior Officer positions in Marine Engineering within the Canadian Coast Guard. As a Technical Junior Officer, you will play a key role in the planning, managing, and delivering of vessel maintenance and technical inspection programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage RFPs, TSORs, and SOWs for vessel maintenance and technical inspection programs
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with various stakeholders
  • Provide technical support and solutions to the national fleet
  • Contribute to technical investigations and quality management of the Vessel Maintenance Management program
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Occupational certificates and experience in Marine Engineering, such as Fourth Class Marine Engineering or Engine-room Rating
  • Experience working in a Marine Environment
  • Knowledge of commonly accepted practices of maintenance, overhaul, or repair of ships and small craft
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Management principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Ability to analyze issues, assess impacts, and develop options or solutions
  • Effective interpersonal skills, dependability, and initiative
Working Environment

As a Technical Junior Officer, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the Canadian Coast Guard. You will be part of a national team of marine professionals who work collectively to provide in-service support for all marine engineering aspects in both current and future fleets.
