Position Overview

Thompson Bus & Freight Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Shuttle Bus Driver to join our team. This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of passengers across various routes.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate buses or streetcars to transport passengers safely and efficiently.
  • Provide essential information to passengers regarding fares, schedules, and stops.
  • Collect fares and maintain accurate transaction records.
  • Report any delays, mechanical issues, or accidents promptly.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of passengers and their belongings.
  • Guide passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure the safety of para-transit passengers during boarding.
  • Engage effectively with the public and address inquiries.
  • Complete necessary logbooks and reports accurately.
  • Manage difficult passenger interactions and resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Communicate with passengers and dispatchers using two-way radio systems.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Must possess a Class 2/2F/C Licence for operating buses with more than a specified number of passengers.
Transportation and Travel Requirements
  • Valid driver's licence is mandatory.
Work Environment
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Hand-eye coordination is necessary for safe operation.
  • Position requires prolonged sitting.
