The renewable energy sector is experiencing significant growth, and we are on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who resonate with our values and are eager to contribute to the energy transition. This opportunity is intended to attract a compatible candidate who can join our team in the near future or immediately. Given the often lengthy hiring process, we are proactively seeking the right fit.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are in search of a dedicated individual who is passionate about environmental sustainability and is committed to our vision of a Net Zero future. The position encompasses roles such as energy modeler, geothermal design engineer, and energy consultant. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing building energy models utilizing IES VE, which is foundational to our operations.
  2. Designing geothermal heating and cooling systems for diverse building types.
  3. Drafting technical drawings using AutoCAD.
  4. Engaging in Net Zero building design and analysis.
  5. Conducting energy studies, feasibility assessments, and renewable energy system evaluations.
  6. Performing energy audits and retrofits.
  7. Providing expert advice to clients on energy-related matters in the built environment.
  8. Conducting site visits to geothermal installations to ensure compliance with design specifications.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. A strong commitment to climate action.
  2. A technical or engineering background.
  3. At least 1 year of experience in building energy modeling (preferably with IES VE); more experience is advantageous.
  4. Familiarity with the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB).
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. A good sense of humor.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote team setting.
  2. Experience in HVAC design or modeling.
  3. Knowledge of building science or envelope performance.
  4. Experience with LEED/Zero Carbon Standard modeling.
  5. Familiarity with TGS modeling.
  6. Background in energy audits.
  7. Understanding of GHG/lifecycle analysis.
  8. Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Position Details:

  1. This role is fully remote, allowing for work from home with flexible hours.
  2. Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $100,000, with a unique pay structure that includes a percentage of every project you contribute to. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and efficiency.
