Position Overview:
This remote position focuses on providing advisory services for renewable energy procurement, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and supporting private equity and investment firms in mergers and acquisitions related to renewable energy projects. As part of the Clean Energy Advisory & Investments team, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients, including many Fortune 50 companies, private equity, and infrastructure capital firms, on renewable investments and energy procurement strategies.
This role acts as an extension of the client's internal team, facilitating strategy development, education, due diligence, risk assessment, and deal approval processes. You will assist clients in formulating investment strategies, evaluating options, conducting thorough project due diligence, and providing commercial support for direct investments, project acquisitions, and financing arrangements.
Additionally, you will support clients in their renewable power procurement efforts by educating them on renewable options, developing procurement strategies, sourcing renewable energy agreements, and securing internal deal approvals. The Clean Energy Investments & Advisory Manager is tasked with delivering exceptional advisory services, nurturing relationships with key renewable developers and clients, and spearheading significant initiatives within the Edison clean energy team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage or assist in client relationships by providing high-quality, timely, and value-driven services.
- Act as a subject matter expert in renewable energy, covering areas such as project development, financing, mergers and acquisitions, tax equity, and energy procurement.
- Evaluate renewable projects for potential acquisitions, investments, and sales, including comprehensive due diligence of development and near-term projects.
- Prepare detailed diligence reports, Q&A logs, and summaries for client review.
- Facilitate due diligence discussions between investors and developers.
- Deliver polished presentations on findings, strategies, deal opportunities, and educational materials to client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with corporate clients to devise strategies aimed at reducing scope 2 emissions through various renewable procurement methods.
- Work cohesively with the team to support client engagements.
- Maintain relationships with key contacts among developers and clients.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3-10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, including roles in development, consulting, investment firms, utilities, or private equity.
Essential Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of renewable project development and financing processes.
- Ability to comprehend renewable energy contracts, including power and asset purchase agreements.
- Thorough understanding of wholesale and retail energy markets, renewable energy development, financing, and corporate procurement strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret energy market data and translate it into actionable strategies for clients.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
