Position Overview

The role of Advisor, Indigenous Engagement and Sustainability is pivotal in driving impactful consulting projects focused on Indigenous self-determination, reconciliation, and socio-economic development. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about working in collaborative and multi-stakeholder environments, particularly within the context of Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the design, execution, and evaluation of both in-person and virtual engagements, including workshops and stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct thorough desktop research and literature reviews to support the development of relevant materials for engagements.
  • Manage logistics for engagements, including participant outreach, attendance tracking, and material distribution.
  • Support business development initiatives by researching client needs, preparing marketing content, and assisting in proposal development.
  • Apply critical and strategic thinking to enhance the effectiveness of our consulting efforts and achieve positive outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as natural resource governance, sustainability, or Indigenous studies.
  • Experience or academic background related to Indigenous issues, particularly in the context of land claims and resource governance.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing complex information into accessible formats and facilitating multi-stakeholder discussions.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations is advantageous.
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred.

  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to embrace new challenges and initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Project management experience is a plus.
