About the Role
CertainTeed Canada, a subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain Group, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to lead our Winnipeg manufacturing site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products while minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality control, to achieve business objectives and exceed customer expectations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality, utilizing World Class Manufacturing techniques and best practices.
- Oversee and promote effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and practices, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Manage and develop key financials, including budgeting, purchasing, and capital expenditures, to meet or exceed business expectations.
- Lead site safety engagement, focus, and commitment to zero incidents, and establish and oversee EHS systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Create a culture of employee engagement, trust, and talent development, promoting a co-operative labour/management approach in a unionized environment.
Requirements
- University degree in a related technical field (Science or Engineering or equivalent) and/or 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead cultural change and create winning teams.
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and excellent communications skills to influence and build partnerships at all levels.
- Expert understanding of the use and application of Autonomous Maintenance, Professional Maintenance, and Kaizen problem-solving.
- Advanced skills in planning to manage broad groups of plant functions.
- Strong financial acumen to diagnose and resolve business challenges, including budget development.
- Efficient problem-solving skills with the ability to work in stressful situations.
- Results orientation, data-driven, and works with a sense of urgency.
- Available off-hours for occasional support when required.
- SAP experience is an asset.
