About the Co-op Program

Our co-op program is designed to develop high-potential Civil Engineering students into future industry leaders. We provide hands-on experience, practical problem-solving opportunities, and a supportive environment for growth. This program offers a valuable pathway for students to gain real-world experience and build a successful career in the construction industry.

Your Role as a Co-op Student

As a Co-op Student, you will contribute to various aspects of our projects:

  • Assisting Foreman: Site safety orientations, on-site work with the crew, task organization, daily records and journals, testing scheduling and recording, layout and survey support.
  • Working with Estimating Team: Drawings take-offs, Request for Information redaction, quantity measuring and tracking, progress estimate preparation, contract & subcontract agreements reviews.
  • Shadowing Superintendent and Project Manager: Traffic Management Plans, non-conformance reports, schedule updates, cost & budget review, site meetings, cost integration, daily project communication, extra work order consolidation.

Skills You'll Develop

This opportunity will allow you to develop a comprehensive understanding of road construction, quality management procedures, and testing requirements. You will also enhance your organizational skills, interpersonal communication, and proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and other relevant programs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should be enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program or possess a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field. Previous work experience in Civil Engineering is an asset. Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and clear communication skills are essential.
