About the Program
At BA Blacktop, we recognize the importance of developing the next generation of civil engineers. Our student co-op program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the industry.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Co-Op Student, you will assist foremen with site safety orientations, actively work on-site with the crew, organize tasks, and perform daily records and journaling. You will also work with the estimating team to complete drawings take-offs, request for information redaction, quantity measuring and tracking, and progress estimate preparation.
Skills and Abilities that You'll Develop
You will develop a strong understanding of road construction and related activities, as well as the QMP and testing requirements for roadway. You will also improve your organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
Qualifications and Knowledge that You Should Aspire to
To be successful in this role, you should be enrolled in a degree program in civil engineering, have a bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field, and have previous work experience in civil engineering. You should also have excellent attention to detail, good judgment, and clear communication skills.
