About the Co-op Program
BA Blacktop's student co-op program is designed to provide Civil Engineering students with hands-on experience and a strong path to gain valuable work experience in the field of road construction.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Co-op Student, you will assist the Foreman with site safety orientations, actively work on-site with the crew, organize tasks, and perform daily records and journaling. You will also work with the Estimating Team on drawings take-offs, request for information redaction, quantity measuring and tracking, and progress estimate preparation.
Skills and Abilities You'll Develop
You will gain an understanding of road construction and related activities, as well as the QMP and testing requirements for roadway. You will also develop strong organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
Qualifications and Knowledge You Should Aspire to
You should be enrolled in a Degree program in Civil Engineering, have a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field, and have previous work experience in Civil Engineering. You should also have excellent attention to detail, good judgment, and clear communication skills.
