Overview

Position Summary

Dillon Consulting Limited is seeking a Senior Manager of Transportation Infrastructure Projects to enhance our multidisciplinary team within the Transportation Engineering sector. This role involves overseeing a diverse range of provincial transportation infrastructure initiatives, including environmental assessments, preliminary and detailed designs for maintenance facilities, commercial vehicle inspection stations, and rest areas. You will be instrumental in our Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO) project teams as we expand our operations.

This role is available at various office locations across Ontario, with options for flexible work arrangements to accommodate personal and professional commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Design

  • Oversee transportation engineering projects and lead multidisciplinary teams comprising civil, electrical, environmental, and architectural professionals.
  • Enhance technical knowledge across various transportation engineering projects, including environmental assessments and both preliminary and detailed design phases.
  • Direct the creation of technical reports and studies to support the development of transportation facility designs, including environmental assessment documentation.
  • Supervise the preparation of contract documents, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and timelines.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement programs and deliver presentations to municipal councils and agencies.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, manage project budgets, and ensure successful project execution.

Business Development

  • Develop project estimates and proposals.
  • Lead efforts to maintain relationships with MTO clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in collaboration with other project managers.
  • Contribute to the leadership and growth of the Transportation Facilities Group.
  • Travel for project meetings and collaboration with other Dillon offices as needed.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A degree in civil engineering.
  • Licensed professional engineer in Ontario.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and business development skills.

Experience

  • Extensive experience with the MTO environmental assessment process and the design of provincial infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods.
  • Proven track record in managing and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities.
  • Strong skills in public and agency consultation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing.
