Position Summary
Dillon Consulting Limited is seeking a Senior Manager of Transportation Infrastructure Projects to contribute to our dynamic Transportation Engineering team in Ontario. This role offers the chance to engage in diverse provincial transportation infrastructure initiatives, including environmental assessments, preliminary and detailed designs for maintenance facilities, commercial vehicle inspection sites, and rest areas. You will be instrumental in our project teams working with the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO) as we expand our operations.
This position is available at various office locations across Ontario, with options for flexible work arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Design
- Oversee transportation engineering projects and lead multidisciplinary teams, including specialists in civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental science, and architecture.
- Enhance technical knowledge across various transportation engineering projects, including environmental assessments and both preliminary and detailed design phases.
- Direct the creation of technical reports and studies to facilitate the development of transportation facility designs, including environmental assessment documentation.
- Manage the preparation of contract documents, which encompass drawings, specifications, tender quantities, cost estimates, and timelines.
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives and present to municipal councils and agencies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, manage project budgets, and ensure successful project execution.
Business Development
- Prepare project estimates and proposals.
- Take a proactive role in nurturing the MTO client relationship.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in collaboration with fellow project managers.
- Contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the Transportation Facilities Group.
- Travel for project meetings and inter-office collaboration as needed.

Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- A degree in civil engineering.
- Professional engineering license in Ontario.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and business development skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with the MTO environmental assessment process and design of provincial infrastructure.
- Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods.
- Proven track record in managing and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Strong public and agency consultation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing.
