Your Role
We are seeking a meticulous, organized, and innovative professional to join our Transportation Business Unit as a Senior Proposal Writer. This role involves spearheading proposal submissions for transportation projects across Canada. You will collaborate closely with Dillon's Project Managers and Proposal Coordination teams to develop high-quality, tailored content for the Transportation Business Unit.
As a key member of the Transportation Business Unit, your contributions will be vital in securing new projects. You will work in tandem with our Technical teams to lead the writing, organization, and production of compelling, technically sound proposals. Your ability to effectively present the project team's expertise and capabilities to potential clients will be crucial for your success.

Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams, including proposal specialists, sales, engineering, sub-consultants, and other experts to gather necessary information for proposal creation.
- Interpret client requirements and RFP documents to grasp project scope and objectives.
- Lead the formulation of the team's strategic approach to winning proposals.
- Craft comprehensive and technically accurate proposals that meet client needs and align with company strengths.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Content Creation
- Collaborate with technical teams to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content that emphasizes our transportation solutions and methodologies.
- Review specific scopes of work to identify any gaps or overlaps.
- Oversee the development of general proposal content to align with client requirements.
- Supervise the creation of graphics and visuals to enhance proposal presentation.
- Customize proposals to reflect specific client needs and industry trends.
Submission Management
- Oversee proposal timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met and high-quality submissions are delivered on time.
- Coordinate with team members to gather insights and incorporate feedback into proposal drafts.
- Collaborate with the Proposal Support Team to maintain an up-to-date and high-quality proposal content library.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and refine proposal content for accuracy and clarity.
- Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure a polished final product.
Research and Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to transportation.
- Work with Dillon's Business Development team to enhance proposal development processes.
Learning & Development
- Commit to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Provide guidance to junior staff, including training and mentoring.
- Engage in professional associations to enhance Dillon's corporate profile.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of five years of experience in the transportation engineering sector, particularly in project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer, especially in proposal writing within the transportation or logistics fields.
Experience
- Strong project management and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with the Canadian transportation market.
- Technical aptitude with a comprehensive understanding of transportation engineering projects.
