Location: New Westminster, BC (Hybrid - Some travel may be required)

Terms: Contract, Full-Time, 35 hours/week

Salary: $60,000- $70,000 per year + benefits

Reports To: General Manager, Fund Development

Overview:

The Manager of Fund Development plays a crucial role in enhancing the relationship between alumni and the YMCA, focusing on fostering a sense of community and engagement. This position is responsible for crafting, executing, and assessing a comprehensive strategy aimed at alumni engagement, including data analysis and reporting on alumni interactions and contributions, event organization, and stewardship of both donors and alumni. The Manager will collaborate with the Fund Development Team and other stakeholders to evaluate the current landscape of alumni relations, pinpoint areas for improvement, and devise actionable strategies for a robust alumni engagement plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and connect with former campers, staff, and volunteers associated with YMCA programs. Recruit, retain, and nurture relationships with YMCA alumni. Develop and maintain a comprehensive alumni database. Facilitate ongoing communication with alumni, focusing on camp history, current operations, and opportunities for involvement. Highlight unique alumni stories for promotional purposes. Organize events and programs to reconnect alumni with the YMCA and each other. Provide opportunities for current campers and volunteers to learn about the YMCA's history through interactions with alumni. Encourage alumni contributions to camp archives to enrich the YMCA's understanding of its history. Solicit alumni feedback on support initiatives and redevelopment projects. Offer leadership opportunities for alumni through advisory committees. Assist in the development of proposals for major gifts and grant applications. Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising campaigns as needed.

Qualifications:

University degree or college diploma in a relevant field preferred. Experience in fundraising, particularly in capital campaigns and donor relations. Strong understanding of YMCA camping programs and organizational history. Proven event planning and management skills. Ability to independently develop strategic plans and achieve objectives. Team-oriented with a capacity to work within a large, multi-service charitable organization. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management. Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines. Candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. Compliance with the YMCA's COVID-19 vaccination policy is required.
